Prof. Friedrich von Bohlen und Halbach (Chairman)
Prof. Friedrich von Bohlen und Halbach, Sc.D., is managing director and co-founder of dievini Hopp BioTech holding GmbH & Co. KG – Advisors in Health Sciences. Dievini manages the biotech investments of SAP co-founder Dietmar Hopp and his family. Friedrich von Bohlen was awarded his Sc.D. in 1992 after having studied biochemistry in Zurich, Switzerland. Thereafter, he worked for Fresenius AG, FAG Kugelfischer and WASAG Chemie. In 1997 he founded LION bioscience AG (now Sygnis Pharma AG) and served as the Company’s CEO for six years. Since 2004 he has been chairman of the Advisory Board of LION bioscience /Sygnis Pharma AG.
Prof. Peter Krammer (Vice Chairman)
Prof. Peter Krammer, M.D., is coordinator of the research programme ‘Tumour Immunology’ at the German Cancer Research Center (DKFZ) and Head of the Division of Immunogenetics. He is one of the world’s most renowned apoptosis researchers and has been awarded numerous prestigious awards and honours, including the Robert Koch Prize; the Avery-Landsteiner Prize; the Ernst Jung Prize; and the Order of Merit of the Federal Republic of Germany.
Prof. Josef Puchta
Prof. Josef Puchta studied economics at the Universities of Augsburg and Erlangen-Nuremberg and received his doctoral degree (Dr. rer. pol.) at the University of Oldenburg. In 1983 and 1984 , he spent research periods in Canada. From 1987 until 1992, he worked in Berlin for the German Foundation for International Development (Deutsche Stiftung für Internationale Entwicklung) and in the Senate Department for Economics and Technology of the State of Berlin. In 1992, Josef Puchta was appointed Administrative Director of the German Institute of Human Nutrition in Potsdam (Deutsches Institut für Ernährungsforschung). Since August 1, 1996 he has been Administrative-Commercial Director of DKFZ. In January 2011, he was appointed Honorary Professor at the Hochschule Mannheim – University of Applied Sciences.
Hartmut Voss, Ph.D
Hartmut Voss is responsible for the scientific evaluation of biotechnology and biopharmaceutical companies at dievini. He obtained his Ph.D. at the European Molecular Biology Laboratory (EMBL) in Heidelberg after studying biology at the University of Kaiserslautern (Germany). He was co-founder of LION bioscience AG (now Sygnis Pharma AG) in 1997, where he held various senior management positions.
Martin Bürmann, J.D.
Martin Bürmann is partner of the law firm Rittershaus in Mannheim (Germany). He studied law at the University of Heidelberg, was accredited Attorney At Law in 1998 and obtained his J.D. in 1991 at the University of Augsburg. He specialises in corporate law, private equity transactions, and trade sales. Mr. Bürmann has been advising biotechnology companies since 1999.
